The studio perspective

We design spaces that feel like you.

Every project begins with a conversation: your rhythm, your story and the feeling you want to meet when you walk through the door. We unite interior design, renovation and art to create spaces with presence and soul.

Approach

We design an emotion

Color, material and light, composed together.

Color

Color never works alone. It becomes emotion when it meets material, light and scale.

Material

Stone, timber, plaster, metal: the dominant material sets the tone of a space before anything else is chosen.

Light

The same palette feels intimate or clinical depending on the temperature and direction of the light.

The studio method

Five decisions,
made in order

  1. 01

    Define the emotion

Before choosing paint, we decide what a person should feel on entering.

  2. 02

    Choose a dominant material

Wood, stone, mineral texture, textile or metal: material sets the tone of the space.

  3. 03

    Build the color relationship

We never pick colors in isolation: we decide which one holds, which contrasts and which breathes.

  4. 04

    Design the light

The same palette feels intimate or clinical depending on its temperature and direction.

  5. 05

    Edit the objects

The right piece, vase, artwork and rug are not afterthoughts: they are part of the composition.

“The question is not what this color means, but what happens when it meets the others.”

About

A more human approach to design

Jason Khass Studio is a design practice working across interiors, renovation and art. Every space is directed personally, from the first conversation to the last layer, so what you imagine and what you live in are the same thing.

We work with our own library of color, material and light combinations, built to design moods rather than just rooms.

“We do not design elements separately. We design the relationship between them.”
